Community

Prioritising the minimisation of community and environmental impacts, CRL consistently ensures that all activities at Redmoor are conducted with this focus. Engaging positively with the community, CRL has held over 24 meetings to date, reflecting a commitment to maintaining successful stakeholder communication throughout our project development.

The adoption of innovative methods, such as utilizing straw bales for noise reduction, has been well-received by community members and the Cornwall Council alike, resulting in zero formal complaints from locals despite the exploration drilling's close distance to residential and rural areas.

CRL and its contractors place a high value on employing local talent whenever feasible. This approach has already enabled numerous local individuals to embark on new careers within the minerals sector.

Environment

Our objective is to minimize the environmental impact of our operations and to ensure restoration to high standards. We hold the following beliefs:
  • Every environmental incident is preventable.
  • While management bears the ultimate responsibility for environmental matters, it is incumbent upon everyone on-site to adhere strictly to environmental procedures, reporting any incidents immediately.
  • It is the duty of employees to halt any job or activity that they perceive could lead to an environmental incident.
We accomplish this by:
  • Acknowledging that our activities can have environmental impacts and accepting our duty to manage and reduce these impacts.
  • Continuously evaluating environmental risks and implementing control measures to avert incidents.
  • Consistently striving to meet or surpass all environmental, planning, and regulatory requirements conditioned on our operations.
  • The Managing Director assumes overall responsibility for the company's environmental performance, with senior management and all employees also dedicated to ongoing enhancement and improvement of their environmental stewardship.
  • Mandating that our contractors and suppliers adhere to our stringent environmental standards.
  • Investigating all incidents thoroughly and instituting appropriate controls to prevent recurrence.
  • Developing rehabilitation and restoration plans that take into account the needs and expectations of our stakeholders, and where practical and pertinent, promote wildlife habitat creation and contribute to biodiversity in the local area.
  • Engaging in effective communication with our stakeholders, fostering dialogue, and consistently monitoring and reporting on our environmental performance.
